Classmates,

The countdown is 4 days to our Newton High School 60th Class Reunion at Brae Burn Country Club!   Registration is closed but based on the seating set up, we can accomodate two more attendees. If you are interested, please email TheNHS66Reunion@gmail.com.

As momentum has built for the reunion, members of other classes are once again left wondering how the Class of 66 continues to set the standard for…well, classy events. “They’re back at it,” one younger Tiger grumbled. “Clearly nothing but an excuse to have a good time.”

Another said enviously, ‘We’ve all heard about their reunions. They hang out. They reconnect. They run into someone they sat next to in fourth grade. They take a few group photos and everyone feels good about it.”

The current list of registered 78 classmates may be found at www.nhs66.org/whos-registered .  We have already received several brief autobiographical blurbs for our electronic version of Who’s Who in the class of 1966.

Whether or not you attend the reunion, please click here to submit your biographical note.

We look forward to seeing you at another fun and memorable reunion.

Registration is now closed for all events.

1.    Welcome Reception: We have finalized details for this kickoff event in the Cabot Room at the Sheraton Boston Needham Hotel on Friday, October 9, from 5:00-8:00 PM.  There will be a cash bar, and the committee will provide appetizers and one free drink. We are thankful to our donors that have funded the Sheraton function room rental, assorted fees, and food costs.

2.    Saturday, October 10 daytime meet up opportunities– Registered classmates have already been sent details.
•    Tour the new Newton North High School for about 75 minutes, assemble at 9:30 AM, the tour starts at around 10:00 AM.
•    Self pay lunch for classmates and their guests at Cabot’s Ice Cream & Restaurant in Newtonville from 12:00-2:00 PM.

3.    NHS66 60th Reunion Party: We will celebrate together on Saturday, October 10, from 5:00-10:00 PM at Brae Burn Country Club, 326 Fuller Street in West Newton. There is plenty of parking available.  Drop off at the door is also possible. The facility is ADA compliant. Cash only bar (no credit cards and no ATM on site).  Attire:  Dressy casual (not-all-the-way-formal-but-please-don’t-wear-shorts).  Brae Burn, like many country clubs, does not allow denim clothing in any form (e.g., jeans, skirts, vests, jackets, etc.).  If you were planning to wear denim, please modify your wardrobe for the evening or you will be refused admission. Sorry, this is not our decision; Brae Burn has a very strict NO DENIM policy.

4.    Farewell Brunch: We hope many of you plan to visit one last time before the weekend ends on Sunday, October 11, from 9:30-11:30 AM at the Sheraton Boston Needham Hotel. Attendees will pay Sheraton’s $24.99 (before tax and tip) buffet fee individually.

Continue to check our class website and Facebook page for the latest reunion details, including information about reservations at suggested hotels.

We are looking forward to another fun and memorable gathering for our NHS class of 1966!
